Bespoke story of Emerald Ring

One of our client's grandmother passed away leaving a simple emerald pendant for him. He remembers her wearing it in a simple pendant on regular basis. It was her favourite and most preferred piece from the rest of her jewellery.

So as soon as he inherited this beautiful pendant, he thought of using this gorgeous emerald stone to create a stunning cocktail ring with tribal accents for his lovely wife.

The emerald that was handed over to us was of Pakistani origin. As per the final design we had to find a similar colour for the two small accompanying emeralds, which we did manage with Columbian cabochons. We used 18 k yellow gold with more of a silver alloys to give it a more greeny gold effect. Finally, post completion we unpolished the piece to give it an antique effect.

I was delighted and felt really satisfied making this gorgeous cocktail ring as it would be treasured from one generation to the other.

He called me the next day and narrated the whole experience and shared his thoughts over the bespoke masterpiece to be made. He always wanted to gift his wife an exotic cocktail ring. He loved his grandmother a lot and so he thought of passing this beautiful gemstone to his wife, who would treasure it the way his grandmother did. He loved photography, especially photographing the ancient temples across India majorly south Indian temples.

We got good amount of brief and idea about the design to be inculcated in creating this exquisite piece. We started studying some south Indian temples like Virupaksha Temple – Hampi, Padmanabhaswamy Temple – Thiruvananthapuram, Guruvayur Temple – Guruvayur and The Shore Temple – Mahabalipuram. We took inspirations from frescos, carvings & mouldings from these temples. Even the client shared lot of pictures that he had clicked which helped us come up with this final design.
