Unusual jewellery is the new go!

Designer Harshad Ajoomal’s collection of artistic fine jewellery with Unusual gemstones and Biomaterials.

Classically beautiful, undeniably eye-catching, diamonds have always been a reliable choice when it comes to high jewellery. But recent years, however, have seen people opening to try on some very unusual and unconventional colored gemstones and various biomaterials, many of which are rare in nature.

Harshad has recently used some unusual gemstones and biomaterials like Geode (A nodule of stone having a cavity lined with crystals or mineral matter). Ammolite Fossil (these gemstones are thin, iridescent layers of fossilized shells of ammonites). Vegetable Ivory (Vegetable ivory or tagua nut is a product made from the very hard white endosperm of the seeds of certain palm trees) and Wood (We also have a line combining sustainable woods with gold & diamonds where we craft precious, artistic, objects for collectors. With an aesthetic for subtle yet sculptural designs, the line has one off ear clips, medallion neckpieces & cuffs that combine fine woods with white & coffee-colored diamonds & molded gold in matt & polished textures. Experimented with local sustainable wood forms & textures and crafted by local artisans using modern techniques like laser & hand chipping.
